UNDER MILK WOOD
Review: A film adaptation of Dylan Thomas’s 1954 radio play.
Director: Kevin Allen
Actors: Rhys Ifans, Sara Sugarman, Julian Lewis Jones and Charlotte Church
Year: 2015
Genre: Drama
Conclusion: 3/5
A very interesting and unusually put together film. Great to see Rhys Ifans in a role like this. I was slightly worried when I saw the trailer for this film and thought I wouldn’t enjoy it but enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. Charlotte Church acted really well in the role that she had to play. Wasn’t at all annoying like I thought she would be. Apparently you can see this film in either English or Welsh. All of the scenes were filmed in Solva, Pembrokeshire, Wales. There are quite a lot of themes in this film. To name a few are peoples Dreams that they have, the Villages that the people all live in like the whole community that they are part of. Death, Time and Humour are also very important themes throughout the whole story. This is a remake of a 1972 version that Richard Burton, Elizabeth Taylor and Peter O’Toole stared in.
