Dear readers, before I start on this film review I thought you might like to know that this is my 500th film review! What better way to celebrate than to review the incredible Star Wars: The Force Awakens.  It is about four years we have been waiting for this film, so the excitement and expectations have built up to fever pitch. As everyone knows, Star Wars is one amazing saga that goes back over 30 years and is probably the best loved film franchise in the history of cinema. One of the things I find incredible is how some of the original actors have come back to this film. I don’t think that there could have been another director who could have done as good a job as J.J. Abrams. The script was really witty and this is a film that will make you laugh out loud as well as cry. John Boyega and Daisy Ridley were both superb. Daisy Ridley did remind me of a young Kiera Knightley. It is lovely to see two fresh actors. I just hope that they go on to do more acting and that we will be able to see much more of them. One of the other things I liked about this film was how you got straight into the action and there were no opening credits. There were moments in this that I thought were really shocking and couldn’t believe what was happening. They took me so much by surprise. The time passed really quickly and this is definitely a film you could happily see again and again, even if you are not a massive Star Wars fan. The Visual Effects were fantastic. The script is already being written for the next two episodes. Star Wars: Episode VIII is due out in 2017. The episode after is not due out until 2019. It is a film that is brimming with energy and excitement all the way through. Star Wars fans will not be disappointed. At the Bafta Awards in 2016 this won Special Visual Effects and John Boyega won The EE Rising Star Award.
