Director: David Dobkin
Actors: Robert Downey Jr, Robert Duvall, Vera Fermiga and Billy Bob Thornton
Year: 2014
Genre: Crime and Drama
Conclusion: 3/5
A very moving performance from Robert Downey Jr. The soundtrack was particularly enjoyable. There are a few scenes in this that are dealt with very sensitively. It is a very touching and tender film. I particularly enjoyed all of the scenes with Hank Palmer and his father. The film does get lost in some places and doesn’t quite know what to do. They could have left some scenes out which weren’t really necessary. This is a very long film. It is interesting to see Robert Downey Jr. do some acting outside the Marvel franchise. This is a very intelligent performance based on a fascinating father son relationship. This film also includes big important themes such as justice and honesty.
