I just felt with this film that there wasn’t much of a story to tell. How true this film is to the real story I don’t know. The performances were brilliant and so were the costumes. Even though this is a French story the film was shot entirely in London. One film critic wrote about this film “Rickman doesn’t take risks and seems to have some difficulties in acting and directing at the same time”.
