Year: 2008
Genre: Drama and Romance
Conclusion: 4/5
A very fine performance from Kate Winslet. A very well made film. This is a very thought provoking piece which gives a very strong sense of the atmosphere at the time. All the performances are outstanding. Nicole Kidman was chosen to do this film but because she was pregnant at the time of filming she had to pull out. At the Academy Awards in 2009 this won one Oscar and that was for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role (Kate Winslet). At the Golden Globe Awards the same year it won one award and that was Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture (Kate Winslet). Also at the Bafta Awards the same year it won for Best Leading Actress (Kate Winslet).
