Conclusion: 2/5
Fantastic cast but just not a great film. I was really disappointed in this and was expecting it to be a better film. There was no acting involved with this. You didn’t feel engaged even with the whole plot. No understanding of what was going on or why they were doing what they were doing. With Cate Blanchette’s character I never understood what her role really was. She had no real significance. It was far too long drawn out.Could have easily been half the time it was. The script was really poor and really lame. I couldn’t understand what any of the characters were saying. I am afraid I was just bored all the way through this. Daniel Craig was cast in this and had a role but dropped out. Matt Damon replaced him. In the Radio Times the description it gives to this film is “This tale of a wartime hunt for stolen art has a remarkable premise and a terrific cast, but proves to be a monumental disappointment.”
