Ex Machina

Ex Machina
Review: Caleb Smith is a young programmer and is selected to participate in a breakthrough experiment in artificial intelligence. He has to spend a week at a private mountain estate of the company’s CEO, Nathan Bateman. Caleb’s job is to evaluate the human qualities of a breathtaking female A.I.
Director: Alex Garland
Actors: Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson and Alicia Vikander
Year: 2015
Genre: Drama, Fantasy and Sci-FI
Conclusion: 4/5
This film is written and directed by Alex Garland who wrote films such as The Beach, Never Let Me Go and many others. Oscar Isaac is in this and is unrecognizable. It is a very interesting film. You never knew from one scene to the next what was going to happen. It is even true at the end of the film; you still didn’t know what the outcome was going to be. This film reminded me a lot of A.I. Artificial Intelligence which Steven Spielberg directed. I also thought a lot of the film Her in which Joaquin Phoenix fell in love with an operating system. At the Academy Awards in 2016 this won one Oscar and that was for Best Visual Effects.
