MOON
Review: Astronaut Sam Bell is coming up to the end of his three year stint on the Moon. Towards the end he starts to realize that the life he created may not be his own.
Director: Duncan Jones
Actors: Sam Rockwell, Kevin Spacey and Dominique McElligott
Year: 2009
Genre: Sci-Fi
Conclusion: 4/5
A film that by the end will leave you in total shock. In 2010 this won one Bafta Award and that was for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer. This film makes several references to Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey. This also reminded me of the film Silent Running. Duncan Jones is the son of David Bowie. One film critic wrote ‘Moon is a gripping sci-fi tale, but also has a lot of heart and humanity’.
