THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2

Review: Spider-Man tries to do his best in protecting his fellow New Yorkers from frightening villains that threaten the city, with the emergence of Electro who is more powerful than him. Also Spider-Man’s best friend Harry Osborn returns.  Peter soon realizes that all his enemies have one thing in common and that is OsCorp.

Enjoyable film. Not as good as the first Amazing Spider-Man film. Very long in places. It was over two hours which I thought was a bit much and there was no need for it to be that long. A lot of the scenes could have been halved or just not been in at all. There were times where I thought that the film was going to finish and then it started up again on a different scene. I wasn’t impressed with the special effects to start of with but they did get better as the film went on. The special effects were so good at the end that you felt like you were in New York . It was also highly predictable. You really knew what was coming next or you could guess what was going to happen at the end. There were a few times where I thought of Superman (the relationship of Clark Kent and Lex Luthor). Great performances from both Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. Whatever decision Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy made would they have ever been happy? Dane DeHaan reminded me of a young Leonardo DiCaprio. It is reported that there is going to be another Amazing Spider-Man film out but not until 2016.
