The King’s Speech

THE KING’S SPEECH

Review: A story about King George VI.
Director: Tom Hooper
Actors: Colin Firth, Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham Carter
Year: 2010
Genre: Drama, History and Biography
Conclusion: 5/5
Excellent performances from all of the cast. Best film of 2010. It is a film that you would have had to go to the Cinema to see. On T.V. you just couldn’t get the same impact. I think they were very brave to make the film as it is only the Queen’s father. This is in Barry Norman’s top 50 Greatest British Films list that was published in the Radio Times. Colin Firth got and Oscar for Actor in a Leading Role in 2011 and Tom Hooper got a Oscar for Best Directing. Also won the Best Picture Award at the Oscars and also for the Writing (Original Screenplay).
