Review: A film set in 1960’s Mississippi. An author decides to write a book. The book the author writes about is on the African-American maid’s view on the white families that they have to work for.
Director: Tate Taylor
Actors: Emma Stone, Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer
Year: 2011
Genre: Drama
Conclusion: 4/5
Watched the trailer for this film and thought it was going to be really rubbish. I watched the film and have now completely changed my mind. I thought it was really good and thought the characters acted really well. Based on a book by Kathryn Stockett. Tate Taylor and Kathryn Stockett were childhood friends. In 2012 Octivia Spencer won a Oscar for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role. She also won a Bafta for Best Supporting Actress. Octivia Spencer won a 3rd award at the Golden Globes for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture.
