My Week With Marilyn

MY WEEK WITH MARILYN

Review: Marilyn Monroe arrives in England to do a production of the play ‘The Prince and the Showgirl’. A young man who is helping with the production becomes obsessed by her.
Director: Simon Curtis
Actors: Kenneth Branagh, Eddie Redmayne and Michelle Williams
Year: 2011
Genre: Biography and Drama
Conclusion: 4/5
Brilliant cast, well acted and good direction by the director. Really good music. You really thought that Michelle Williams was Marilyn Monroe. Even though we never knew Marilyn that is the image that we all think she is like. Everything was so believable and real. In 2012 Michelle Williams won a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical. Scarlett Johansson was offered the part of Marilyn Monroe but turned it down. In this film Judi Dench plays Sybil Thorndike. They have both met on several occasions in real life. I was really looking forward to watching this film and it definitely didn’t disappoint me! A must see!
