A classic film! A fantastic cast list which includes the likes of Gene Tierney and Vincent Price who take on the main roles. I love the musical score composed by David Raksin. This is based on a novel by Vera Caspary who first wrote her story as a play titled “Ring Twice for Lora”, in 1939, then adapted the play into a novel titled “Laura”. There was tension straight away between Producer and Director Otto Preminger and original Director Rouben Mamoulian. A film to fall in love with and one that you will want to re-live over and over again. I just want to end my review with the opening quote of the film given from the narrator “I shall never forget the night Laura died…”. At the Academy Awards in 1945 this won 1 Oscar Award for Best Cinematography, Black-and-White.
