Year: 2004
Genre: Drama, Musical, Romance and Thriller
Conclusion: 4/5
Fantastic cast with the likes of Ciaran Hinds, Simon Callow and Miranda Richardson. I do think Emmy Rossum is amazing and carries the whole film. I know there is a lot of argument about the casting of Gerard Butler however I do think this is his best film and I was amazed by his performance. For the full makeup and prosthetics it took four hours for Gerard Butler to be fitted before shooting began. What I was impressed with the most were the sets and all the costumes. The chandelier that was used weighed 2.2 tons, cost $1.3 million, and was provided by Swarovski. Just some of the themes included are love and madness and identity and self discovery.
