Apparently, the title “Five Easy Pieces” refers to a book of piano lessons for beginners. Jack Nicholson gives an outstanding performance. Superbly directed by Bob Rafelson. A film you can still watch in the present day and enjoy. A timeless classic. On the back of the dvd cassette it quotes “Deceptively simple, but one of the most complex and interesting films of its time”. This explores themes such as Identity and Alienation, the Quest for Meaning and Aimlessness and Freedom. At the Golden Globe Awards in 1971 it won 1 award for Best Supporting Actress – Motion Picture (Karen Black).
