The Field

THE FIELD

Review: When a rented field on the bluffs by the sea in Ireland, farmed by Bull McCabe and family, goes up for auction, the McCabe family will stop at nothing to prevent a rich American from buying it.
Director: Jim Sheridan
Actors: Richard Harris, Sean Bean, Frances Tomelty, Brenda Fricker, John Hurt, Ruth McCabe, Jer O’Leary, Ronan Wilmot, Jenny Conroy, Sean McGinley, Malachy McCourt, Brendan Gleeson and Tom Berenger
Year: 1990
Genre: Drama, Thriller and Tragedy
Conclusion: 4/5
Based on a stage play titled “The Field” by John B. Keane. A film that is filmed with good intentions. Probably too slow and dated for todays audience. Interesting to see a young Brendan Gleeson.
