Director: James Marsh
Actors: Philippe Petit, Jean Francois Heckel, Jean-Louis Blondeau, Annie Allix, David Forman, Alan Welner, Mark Lewis, Barry Greenhouse, Jim Moore and Paul McGill
Year: 2008
Genre: Biography, Crime, Documentary, History and Thriller
Conclusion: 4/5
This is a heart-stopping documentary from director James Marsh. Based on a book named “To Reach the Clouds”. The only thing I feel that is missing is some actual real footage of the event. Philippe Petit was only 24 years old when he made the walk between the Twin Towers. Mark Kermode quotes “the documentary takes its name from the phase written by a baffled police officer trying to figure out what crime he was arresting Petit for simply settling for ‘Man on Wire’.” At the Academy Awards in 2009 this won 1 Oscar for Best Documentary, Features. At the Bafta Awards in 2009 this won 1 Award for the Alexander Korda Award for Best British Film.
