This is the first Paddington not to be directed by Paul King. In this we see Emily Mortimer take over from Sally Hawkins. I have to say that I did miss Sally Hawkins’ presence although Emily Mortimer did a good job. All the other original cast members return to this franchise. I just want to say that you do have to watch this film all the way through to the end credits. This is definitely the weakest of all the three films. I almost got the feeling that the director and creative team have actually run out of ideas. The problem that I have with this film is that in my view you can’t take Paddington to Peru, he belongs in the UK. If you do have a really young child who wants to see a Paddington film this would be the one to choose as it has the least scares in and is less frightening than the others. What this does feature is the theme of tribe vs family and also where your from and where you call home.
