GODLAND

Review Set in the late century, a young Danish priest is sent to a remote part of Iceland to build a church. The deeper he travels into the unforgiving landscape, the more he strays from his purpose, the mission and his sense of duty.
Director: Hlynur Palmason
Actors: Elliott Crosset Hove, Ingvar Sigurdsson, Vic Carmen Sonne, Jacob Lohmann and Hilmar Gudjonsson
Year: 2022
Genre: Drama
Conclusion: 4/5
Watching this film you could almost see it as a film about miscommunication and people not speaking the same language. It is also about faith and the absence of faith. This did remind me of the film The Mission (1986). It is a very slow moving film and you do have to give it time. It is also a very long film standing in at 2h 23m. At the end of the film it did leave me feeling rather cold!!
