Based on a novel by Irish author John McGahern. I love Barry Ward and I think he is a fantastic actor. I could almost see this as a stage play. Film critic Sean McGeady from The Radio Times wrote about this film “Pat Collins creates a slow, warm piece that finds beauty in birdsong”.
