Wicked Little Letters

WICKED LITTLE LETTERS

Review: The 1920s English seaside town of Littlehampton is scandalised when the people there are suddenly plagued with obscenity-filled letters. An Irish migrant, Rose, is charged with the crime and suspects that something is amiss; the women of the town start investigating.

Conclusion: 3/5
This film is based on actual events and people. This film reunites both Jessie Buckley and Olivia Colman who starred together in The Lost Daughter (2021). I really enjoyed this film and actually found myself laughing. Such a terrific cast including Jessie Buckley, Olivia Colman and Hugh Skinner who I think is great. It is down to the performances that make this film work. There has been many an argument as to why this film is a 15 rather than a 12 rating. One of the reasons is that the language is really obscene. An interesting bit of trivia is that Britain’s first women police constables were employed in 1915.
