THE HOLDOVERS

Review: Set in the 1970s, a curmudgeonly instructor at a New England school is forced to remain on campus during Christmas. Eventually over Christmas he forms an unlikely bond with a brainy troublemaker, and with the school’s head cook, a woman who has just lost a son in Vietnam.

I loved this film and I think that it is a shame that there aren’t more films like this being made. I would class it as a feel good movie. A totally engaging film. I loved all the performances especially Da’Vine Joy Randolph’s. This is Dominic Sessa’s on-screen debut and lovely to see a new upcoming actor. This is a film where at times it had me laughing and also times where I was really emotional.
