FERRARI

Review: Ferrari is set in the summer of 1957. Enzo Ferrari’s auto empire is in crisis. The company that he and his wife built ten years earlier is facing bankruptcy. He pushes himself and his drivers to the edge as they launch the treacherous 1,000-mile race across Italy known as the iconic Mille Miglia. There are themes of grief and ambition, alongside the triumphs and tragedy of racing.

Year: 2023
Genre: Biography, Drama and History
Conclusion: 3/5
Apparently, the director started pre-production on a version of this film in 1993. Over the years there have been numerous actors in conversation about this film including the likes of Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman, Robert De Niro. I know this has had some really good reviews from film critics but I felt slightly let down by this film. I have to say that I didn’t feel moved at any point. I also felt that it was far too long standing in at 2h 10 minutes although it felt a lot longer. I am not sure what to think of Adam Driver’s accent! The themes include grief and ambition and also the triumphs and tragedy of racing.
