It has been said that this is Steven Spielberg’s most personal film. As much as I enjoyed this film I felt I couldn’t relate to this like I did with E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial (1982). With E.T. all ages could engage with it. The main problem that I have with The Fabelmans is that I didn’t know how much of it was fiction. Fantastic performances from Paul Dano and Michelle Williams. At the end of the film I have to say that it left me with a spring in my step. I was rather disappointed once it came to an end. This has themes of love, young love, parental divorce, forgiveness and early formative relationships. At the Golden Globe Awards this won for Best Motion Picture – Drama and Best Director – Motion Picture.
