Long Way Back

LONG WAY BACK

Review: A reluctant father drives his estranged daughter home from university after she leaves under tragic circumstances.
Director: Brett Harvey
Actors: Tristan Sturrock, Kate Edney, Chloe Endean and Susan Penhaligon
Year: 2022
Genre: Drama
Conclusion: 4/5
I am aware that film critics have given this film bad reviews but I have to say I really enjoyed it. It is a film I still thought about days after watching it. There are two filming locations which I thoroughly enjoyed seeing and they are The Wookey Hole Caves in Somerset and also the Nearly Home Trees as you enter Cornwall on the A30. I very much enjoyed the use of photography. The director kept the whole film moving and I never once got bored of a scene. I really enjoyed the music which I thought they had got just right without over playing it. All four of the main actors were faultless. I thought it was great to see a cast that are local to Cornwall and are all fairly unknown. I do think that this film should be made more available and easier to find for viewers. It is a film I struggled to find. I found this to be a very moving and powerful drama.
