Director: Kasi Lemmons
Actors: Naomi Ackie, Stanley Tucci, Ashton Sanders, Tamara Tunie, Nafessa Williams, Clarke Peters, Daniel Washington, Bailee Lopes, Bria Danielle Singleton, JaQuan Malik Jones, Kris Sidberry, Dave Heard, Coffey, Lance A. Williams, Luke Crory and Devon Coull
Year: 2022
Genre: Biography, Drama and Music
Conclusion: 3/5
I think Naomi Ackie has a really hard job trying to imitate Whitney Houston but she does her performance so convincingly and real. She made it look so easy. Apparently, in this Whitney Houston’s voice is used for 95% of the singing. Standing in at 2h 24m I did find it rather too long. One of the reasons that I thought this film was good is that it balances the good and bad aspects of Whitney Houston’s career. It doesn’t just focus completely on the negative.
