Year: 2017
Genre: Comedy and Drama
Conclusion: 2/5
Based on a novel by Stephen Fry. I enjoyed the first half of the film more than the second. I felt it was a film where it itself didn’t know where it was heading. Sadly, I was just waiting for it to finish. It felt too overlong and stretched out. I don’t know whether the story works well as a novel but not so great on the big screen. I have to say that I thought there was too much voiceover so therefore I thought it was too much like an audiobook. I love Roger Allam and think he is a fantastic actor, great to see him take on the lead role.
