Conclusion: 4/5
I have to say that I think this is one of the better Harry Potter films. In this film it has themes that focus on “good vs evil” very strongly and also “right vs wrong”. It is a very dark and scary film. Fantastic screenplay. Again, directed by David Yates who also directed Order of the Phoenix. I thought it was great to see Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint all back. It is like seeing old friends back on our screen. Hero Fiennes Tiffin was cast as Tom Riddle, while his uncle, Ralph Fiennes played Lord Voldemort. I have to say that the two things I am most disappointed with is that there was no Jason Isaacs and also no Adrian Rawlins. No plot spoilers but I am not sure what to think of the last 15 minutes of the film. I have not read The Half-Blood Prince but in the novel, it probably makes a lot more sense but, in the film, I felt it was all a bit rushed and with no proper explanation. I was left slightly confused at the end. Even though I think this is one of the best Harry Potter films I also think it is the one that is going to divide viewers the most. I think of this film as like a marmite film!
