Conclusion: 4/5
This film for me is the story where we really see the actors come to life and start to act seriously. We now start to see the three (Daniel, Rupert and Emma) mature and get older in themselves and as actors. This for me is the first Harry Potter where it has suddenly got much darker and grimmer. I don’t think that this novel is the easiest to put onto the screen. I have to say that Alan Rickman was not in this enough and also Jason Isaacs and I missed their presence. Mike Newell has had a tough project and think he has done a fantastic job. Before Mike Newell was down to direct Alfonso Cuaron was offered the chance to direct this instalment in the franchise, but declined. This is the only Harry Potter movie not to feature any scenes with Mrs. Weasley as played by Dame Julie Walters. Actor Henry Cavill auditioned for the role of Cedric Diggory. In this movie especially I thought that the special effects were terrific. At the Bafta Film Awards in 2006 this won 1 Award for Best Production Design.
