Conclusion: 3/5
Based on a novel by Louis Bayer which I have to confess I have never heard of. Great cast list including Christian Bale and Toby Jones. The one actor I was most surprised with was Harry Melling who plays the young Edgar Allen Poe. I thought he was terrific. In March 2021, it was announced that Netflix bought the rights to the film for around US$55 million at the European Film Market. If you didn’t feel cold before watching this, you will certainly feel very cold by the end!!
