A classic film from director Bill Forsyth. This film was dubbed with milder Scottish accents for the original American release. This is a very charming and innocent film. At the Bafta Awards in 1982 this won one award and that was for Best Screenplay. This is listed in Barry Norman’s top 100 favorite films and also his top 50 Greatest British Films that was published in the Radio Times. One film critic said about this film “A charming but slight teen movie about sports, a first romance and growing up”.
