BEL AMI
Bel Ami
Review: This is the story of Georges Duroy, who travels through Paris in the 1890’s. He rises to power through his manipulation of the city’s wealthiest and most influential women.
Director: Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod
Actors: Robert Pattinson, Uma Thurman and Kristin Scott Thomas
Year: 2012
Genre: Drama, History and Romance
Conclusion: 2/5
Based on the novel by Guy de Maupassant. Robert Pattinson is a very good actor but in this I just think it was the wrong role for him. I don’t know though which actor could have played that part. The set design and the costumes I was not very impressed with. Kristen Scott Thomas was brilliant and gave it everything she could. One thing I liked about the film was that it went from scene to scene really quickly. You never got bored of just one scene. The directing was good by both directors. The whole story was pretty depressing and didn’t amount to anything.
