Conclusion: 4/5
A film based on the best selling novel by ML Steadman. This has had mixed reviews from film critics. It is a unusual film that In the way it could have been made about 30 years ago because of the whole pace of the film. The chemistry really comes across in this between the two central characters and I think it works because they are both in a relationship with each other in real life. Both Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander give outstanding performances. I think they are both extraordinary characters. You could say about this that it is like a Shakespeare tragedy. There were so many scenes that just got to me and couldn’t believe what was coming next. I was gripped all the way through. The film score to this was incredible and made the film come alive more and made it much more moving. The cinematography was just outstanding. This is a heart-breaking drama about fate, love, moral dilemmas and the lengths to which one coupe will go to see their dreams realized. Once the film finished I came out giddy, wobbly and also at the same time I was emotionally moved by the whole film. This is probably one of my favourite films this year.
